This is Isobel and Dave. Isobel has one of the most disarmingly beautiful smiles I have ever seen, and owns one of the most splendid duffle coats I have ever seen. Dave is a talented filmmaker and made me laugh pretty much constantly throughout the shoot until my cheeks ached. Together they have gorgeous Edie, who I had to try very hard not to run off with (along with Isobel’s coat). Both Isobel and Dave are so down to earth, funny and friendly, they made the morning such a pleasure. They decided to have their shoot in Yorkshire Sculpture Park, which I’d not visited before, so that was a real treat as well. If you haven’t already been, I strongly recommend you do, it’s wonderful. My only warning would be to either give the gift shop a very wide berth or be prepared to pillage your wallet – rarely do I see a shop where I want to buy pretty much everything in it, but this really is one of them. On the plus side, I did manage to get a fair amount of Christmas shopping done there after the shoot (admittedly along with a few completely non-essential but oh-so-beautiful purchases for yours truly). I loved doing a shoot in the snow, it made such a refreshing change, and I loved the difference in light and mood. I just wish I’d used a modicum of common sense and worn completely waterproof shoes – by the time I’d finished, my feet looked like they belonged to an 80 year old woman who’d been in the bath for too long… not a good look.

Isobel and Dave brought Edie along with them, which I really enjoyed. I love photographing babies and she was a complete dream – full of heart-melting smiles, bags of personality and those wonderful two front teeth! They are such a happy, warm and fun-loving family, I can’t wait for their wedding and know that with more of the same love, fun and smiles, it will be another wonderfully cheek-aching day.
