Isobel and Dave engaged – snow, sculptures and the lovely Edie

This is Isobel and Dave. Isobel has one of the most disarmingly beautiful smiles I have ever seen, and owns one of the most splendid duffle coats I have ever seen. Dave is a talented filmmaker and made me laugh pretty much constantly throughout the shoot until my cheeks ached. Together they have gorgeous Edie, who I had to try very hard not to run off with (along with Isobel’s coat). Both Isobel and Dave are so down to earth, funny and friendly, they made the morning such a pleasure. They decided to have their shoot in Yorkshire Sculpture Park, which I’d not visited before, so that was a real treat as well. If you haven’t already been, I strongly recommend you do, it’s wonderful. My only warning would be to either give the gift shop a very wide berth or be prepared to pillage your wallet – rarely do I see a shop where I want to buy pretty much everything in it, but this really is one of them. On the plus side, I did manage to get a fair amount of Christmas shopping done there after the shoot (admittedly along with a few completely non-essential but oh-so-beautiful purchases for yours truly). I loved doing a shoot in the snow, it made such a refreshing change, and I loved the difference in light and mood. I just wish I’d used a modicum of common sense and worn completely waterproof shoes – by the time I’d finished, my feet looked like they belonged to an 80 year old woman who’d been in the bath for too long… not a good look.
Isobel and Dave brought Edie along with them, which I really enjoyed. I love photographing babies and she was a complete dream – full of heart-melting smiles, bags of personality and those wonderful two front teeth! They are such a happy, warm and fun-loving family, I can’t wait for their wedding and know that with more of the same love, fun and smiles, it will be another wonderfully cheek-aching day.

Lovely! I used to visit the Yorkshire Sculpture Park loads when I lived up North – fab place. Looks like they had lots of fun on their shoot!
I’m very proud to call that big bloke my son, the gorjus Iz our soon-to-be daughter in law and likkle Edie the best grandaughter in the world. David and Iz are real candidates for the best parents ever and we wish them all the love and happiness – they deserve it.
Great photo session, and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a great day out, Judy and I went in the summer on the spur of the moment.
I am more of a nature photographer, and tend not to be a people photographer. However sometimes I can get your sort of shots which are much easier when you have such good subjects. Glad you liked my deviantArt pages. We will make an effort to get together soon.
Best Regards Clive
Congratulations to you both. This sums it up – happiness par extraordinaire!!! David and Isobel, I wish you all the best for your future together. Edie looks so content – no wonder!!! – she has been born into a truly great family.
What a wonderful photo shoot. The photos capture the true nature of our beautiful, sunny and smiley daughter, Issie, and our gorgeous granddaughter Edie. The big bloke ain’t so bad either! It will be a delight to call Dave our son-in-law.
We’re looking forward to the wedding in April: another joyful event in their life together.
Well, haven’t they all done very well???!!! Such beautiful photo’s. You have really captured all three of them so perfectly. I’ve always loved the way Isobel’s eyes scrunch up when she smiles. Just too gorgeous! Can’t wait for the Wedding (and for another cuddle with Edie!!)
