Weddings: FAQ

Why should we book you?

Feel free to read a bit more about me, have a look at my images and hear what my clients have to say!

What is your photographic style and approach?
For the vast majority of the day, my style and approach is completely photojournalistic, discreetly documenting the day as it naturally unfolds - you should hardly know I'm there! Later on in the day I also usually spend a little time taking some relaxed and creative portraits so that you have some vibrant, fresh and beautiful images of you as a couple.

What type of packages do you offer?
I offer both album and digital packages, so there is something for everyone. Couples who want me to mastermind the whole process get gorgeous finished products delivered to their door, whilst particularly creative couples can have the flexibility to make their own prints and albums if they wish to do so! See prices for more details.

Can we see some sample albums?
Of course you can! Just drop me an email or give me a call to arrange a meeting.

Do we get the digital images?
I feel very strongly that couples should be able to access all of their own wedding photos whenever they wish - it is your day after all! I always provide all high-resolution digital images from your day with unlimited printing rights.

Can I print from the high-resolution images?
Absolutely! As is standard practice I retain copyright but you have unlimited printing rights so you can keep the files and print your photos as many times as you wish, in whatever size you wish, in whatever format you wish! The only things you can't do are sell them or modify them, but I have never met one person who would want or need to do this anyway!

Do you do engagement shoots?
Yes, absolutely! These are lots of fun.

What if we need something a little different to your standard packages?
Not a problem - just give me a call or drop me an email explaining what you want on your wedding day and I will get back to you the same day with a bespoke package and quotation.

Do you do family group shots?
Of course! People do get extremely fed up posing for lots of them and they do tend to eat away at the day so I always keep them to a minimum so that you, your family and friends are able to spend the day relaxing with each other and enjoying your time together. Couples always find that 4-6 groups are more than enough to get all the people you want.

How do you know where and when we want you on our big day?
I always meet up with couples for a thorough pre-wedding consultation a month or two before the big day to run through specific timings and arrangements so that I can make sure I capture everything that you want me to.

What if we really don't like having our photo taken?
This isn't a problem at all - most people feel this way! I pride myself on being able to make people relax and forget the camera, so most of the time you won't even know that I'm there. Provided you are happy for me to do so, I usually spend a little time taking some relaxed portraits of you away from the rest of your guests so that you don't feel self-conscious and you have some beautiful, natural photographs of yourselves together. Lots of couples say that they really enjoy this time to have some breathing space together from the chaos of the day.

How long will it be until I get my pictures?
Your finished images will be ready in your private online gallery within 3 weeks of your wedding day. If you have selected an album option, you will receive this within 8 weeks of confirmation of the images you have selected for the album. Any wall art or products will be ready within 4 weeks of placement of order.

Are the images in colour or black and white?
All images are digitally captured and at no extra cost are individually edited in the digital darkroom - I am a real Photoshop nerd and really love the creativity of this part of the process! The final images are presented in a mixture of colour and black and white.

I'm getting married abroad, is this a problem?
Not at all, I absolutely love travelling and photographing new places! Costs are the same as my standard packages, plus travel and basic accommodation expenses for myself and an assistant.

What areas of the country do you cover?
Anywhere and everywhere! I am based in the North West but gladly travel. Outside a 50 mile radius of Manchester there is a small charge to cover travel costs. Overnight accommodation may be required but we can chat about this before booking.

What other products do you offer?
Lots! I offer lots of extras such as Shoot the Dress and engagement shoots, parent albums, wall art, vouchers and greeting cards.

Our wedding images are precious, how do you keep them safe?
With back ups, more back ups, even more back ups and then some more back ups! I take great care to make sure that your images remain safe, with a number of different backups on different media and in different locations.

We'd love to get lots of really adventurous, artistic photos of us looking amazing in our wedding clobber, but can't spend much time on the actual day posing for photos, what do you suggest?
Well, I'll make sure that you definitely get lots of beautiful, artistic pictures of you both looking gorgeous on your wedding day, so you don't need to worry about that. However, if you want some really adventurous, dramatic pictures where there are no limitations on time or location, you have the option of booking a 'Shoot the Dress' shoot where we can get as creative as you like!

We think you're the wedding photographer for us, how do we book you?
Wonderful! Drop me an email or phone call to check I'm available - if I am, I'm more than happy to meet up in person for a chat. If you want to confirm the booking, you just need to pay the £450 deposit and complete the booking form I email you. Simple!
