It’s not often you get asked to photograph a secret wedding. It’s also not often you get asked to photograph a wedding in the UK’s oldest working cinema. When Jordanna first got in touch with me and asked me to do BOTH of these things at the same time, I knew it was going to be something really special.

It’s always so flattering when a fellow photographer books you – Jordanna is an amazing photographer herself and I was over the moon that she thought of me for her wedding pictures, particularly since it was going to be such a fun little adventure! It was very short and sweet – just 4 hours of photography from getting ready to the meal, but honestly, there was SO much amazing stuff crammed into those 4 hours!

Jordanna got ready at the eye-poppingly cute LeKeux Vintage Salon before hopping in a taxi to get hitched at the incredible Electric Cinema in front of only 20 of their closest family. The ceremony was wonderful – beautifully intimate and atmospheric, as well as absolutely hilarious and completely unique. I loved the film reel that Jordanna and Dave had chosen to play in the background and I think I can safely say that this has been and probably will be the first and last time I will ever see Silence of the Lambs involved in a wedding ceremony. Jordanna and Dave have a brilliant and mischievous sense of humour and this was really reflected in the choices they made – at several points in the ceremony I couldn’t help laughing out loud, and was relieved each time to hear that thankfully everyone else was too!

From the cinema we ambled through Birmingham city centre, through the Christmas Markets to the canal, where a gorgeous barge was waiting to take everyone on a lovely dinner cruise. It was such a wonderful day  - Jordanna looked absolutely beautiful (LOVED her dress and veil), it was full to the brim with laughter, love and character, and I am officially in love with their beautiful little boy Rocco – I defy anyone not to melt when you see how scrumptious he is. Jordanna kept me giggling the whole time and I could not have enjoyed photographing this totally unique day any more than I did. Thanks so much for having me Jordanna and Dave – and MASSIVE congratulations!!!
